Last week one of the Forward Operating Bases (FOB) in Afghanistan was attacked. The Taliban has taken full claim for detonating approx. 2000 pounds of explosives and breaching FOB Solarno. One soldier passed as a result of injuries from the attack but there were mostly "minor injuries". (Read more HERE) However, the base lost both their Post Exchange (where necessities can be purchased inside the wire) & their Dfac (dining hall). This has caused soldiers to be set on a 2 MREs (Meals Ready to Eat)/daily ration. For those of you who are familiar with these meals, you know that the contents are exactly "yummy". Now imagine having nothing but the contents of these packages to eat... You'd be pretty miserable.

(Main course, side dish, bread, dessert, and flameless ration heater)

When I heard about this happening I asked for an address & if it would be alright if I shared this with you all. As my friend told others when she brought this news to us, "Want to make a difference, instead of spending 30 bucks on that steak dinner?? Spend 20 dollars get some dry food, pack it in flat rate box large is only 12 bucks to ship, hit me up for an address!" Being an Army Wife I know what these men & women go through on a day to day basis. Add to that an event such as this one and & they really could use our help. I have included a list below of things that these soldiers are in need of. Sending a care package really is as simple as stated above. Just get in touch with me for the address :D I will not be sharing it on here due to the sensitivity of the information.
