If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would probably have to say my Grammy's homemade candy fudge. Sad part is- I can not make it to save my life. It's one of those recipes where every step has to be precise. So yeah- I am yet to get it right but I'm determined. That's all that matters... right?
What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Brownies infused with PB clusters or PB chips. Oh yeah- or cupcakes :D
What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
Ranch dressing on Spaghetti? Is that weird/crazy enough? I'm not much of a risque person when it comes to my food. I enjoy familiar.
What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, & large slices of onion. I've tried half of these but for some reason I just have a strange aversion to them all.
What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Pintos, Salmon patties, & homemade coleslaw. My aunt used to make it for me all the time. All time favorite. For sure!
Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
My momma's Banana Pudding. This was requested at every family get together for Thanksgiving & Christmas when I was growing up. It's one that is simple & I've learned to make for get togethers that my family now attends. {I'll be sure to share the recipe on here soon}
Sorry for the lack of photos this post. I managed to quickly type it up before heading to bed at 2am {Bubbie gets up at 7am}

Ranch on spaghetti?! I guess don't knock it until you try it right?
ReplyDeleteOkay first and foremost I love the name of your blog. I thought I was the only person who liked sugar in their grits. Way better than cheese. lol I am so with you on mushrooms and tomatoes. I can't get past the texture. It grosses me out.
ReplyDeleteI tried to make fudge once and it was the hardest thing ever. You really need to be on the ball on every step and though I would like to be this amazing baker/fudge maker I'm not that precise.
ReplyDeleteBanana pudding - YUM!!! and PB brownies - my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteI don't like raw onions/tomatoes/mushrooms. But if they are cooked in something they add such an element you can's put in with dry seasoning. I have an imulsion blender which helps me. If you don't have one get one best thing ever.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fudge my great grandmother only made it when it was cold outside said it was something in the air. Fudge Weather. Oct-Dec lol

I never "got" banana pudding until I tried it about a year ago and now I wish I'd discovered it sooner. Delicious! I've never heard of salmon patties and am thinking they may be like banana pudding - something you have to try!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I keep trying to add you to my blogroll and it tells me it can't find your feed. It could definitely be my technical error, but thought you should know.

I'm right there with you on the raw onions, but I love them cooked. Go figure. HAPPY SUNDAY!

Well now I want brownies, pudding, and cupcakes lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't like those things either... Well I don't mind mushrooms, but peppers, tomatoes, and onions make me shiver in disgust!
