So Much Awesomeness!

Good Evening Lovelies!

If feels like forever since I last wrote. Maybe because the last thing I shared was a review. Don't get me wrong, I love doing reviews & giveaways but nothing beats a personal post. Wouldn't you agree?

Some good news since I last wrote: The hubs got in with his oldest son last night! I am super excited to have him staying here this month. It's a nice change of pace to have a 7 year old around. He keeps Bubbie occupied & is eager to help when needed. Since we haven't seen him since he was 3 years old I was kind of nervous about how it was going to be in the beginning. Thankfully though, it is running smoother than expected. He has fit right in from the very beginning. It's strange. It's kind of like he has been here all along. I'll be sure to share photos soon. Him & the hubs is going to a car show tonight so I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures taken.

Lil E's birthday was spent at home sick, as well at the doctor's office with Bubbie. Apparently, they are both battling Croup at the same time. Joy! I did get them a 6pk of cupcakes from the local grocery store though and let her dive in. It was her first whole cupcake & boy did she enjoy it.
As far as my little corner of the World Wide Web is concerned, there are so many new things that have me excited. On Tuesday I will be co-hosting an "open letter" linky with Debbie of Wrinkled Mommy. She is one of my favorite bloggers & teaming up with her has me Super Duper Excited!!

This coming Friday we will be attempting to host the 'Friday Follows' linky again. Last time we tried it (a couple weeks ago) something went wrong with the linky service that we were using. Notice how I keep using the pronoun "we"? That is because I have an amazing co-host: Briana of Newly Blissed. She has been so patient as I am working through the kinks of hosting my first linky party. That in itself earns her two thumbs up.
One more thing. Starting tomorrow, there will be ads on the right side of my blog. These are from my Sponsor Swap that I've just started. Each monthly sponsorship also comes with a monthly spotlight near the middle of the month, including each sponsor. Want to jump on board, check the Sponsor Swap page for more information. Sign up anytime! This is a constant running opportunity. And a wonderful opportunity for new readers if I do say so myself :D

Well, I'm going to head off here for now & spend some time with Bubbie & Lil' E while the hubs & Logan are at the car show. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Funky Monkey Snack Review {and Giveaway}

Bubbie recently had the chance to try out Funky Monkey Snacks. I have to be honest- I couldn't be happier with these snacks. Here are a few facts I think you should know:
  • There are 3 servings of fruit in each 1oz packet.
  • You do not have to worry about added sugars, colors, flavors, or preservatives.
  • Your kids (and yourself) have 7 flavors to pick from at snack time.
  • Frozen fruit is never used during the manufacturing of Funky Monkey Snacks. Fresh fruit is always used.
  • These snacks are perfect for Gluten-free homes, as well as those who prefer Kosher foods.

We received a pack of each flavor {applemon,bananamon,Carnaval Mix, MangOJ, JiveALime, Pink Pineapple, & Purple Funk} to try. My taste buds seemed to lean more towards the applemon & bananamon flavors. Bubbie on the other hand, enjoyed them all. Of course he called them 'candy' but hey- I don't mind. In this case, what he doesn't know, only makes him healthier. I would definitely purchase these for my kids to snack on. It doesn't hurt that each pack travels well & that there is minimal clean up {if any at all} to worry about.

You can purchase Funky Monkey Snacks for your family through the website. A list of stores that also carry them can be found by visiting their website.

One Lucky Reader will win a sampler pack {containing 1 pack of each flavor}
*Open to US Residents only*
Bubbie gives Funky Monkey Snacks a thumbs up.
Would be two thumbs up but his other hand was full at the moment

I received a sampler pack from Funky Monkey Snacks in order to conduct my review.
There was no monetary exchange and all opinions are my own and/or my family's.

{10} Notes for My Daughter: Happy Birthday Em'

It's hard to believe that exactly one year ago today, I gave birth to our little Princess. You know, before she was born I had decided not to call her that. I really can not tell you why I was against it- I just was. Once she made her arrival into this world (Read that Amazing Story here) the hubs quickly appointed her the 'princess'. In honor of Lil' E's birthday I have decided to share:

10 Things I Wanna Tell You, Princess

{1}The way that you made your way into this world. Not only were you determined & fashionably on time (a must for this family) but you decided to do it "Your Way". I'm a firm believer that some just enter this world as they plan on living their lives. Hopefully this is true for you baby girl. Never let anyone slow you down. If you want it, go get it... On your own terms.

{2}Pyloric Stenosis couldn't even slow you down. Even your doctor doubted there was any issue greater than acid reflux. You were such a happy baby even when you weren't able to keep anything down. Such a strong girl you are. Surgery at 2 months old didn't even slow you down. You're such a champ. Never forget that.

{3}Your Bubba really does love you. I know at times it doesn't seem like it. He's a typical boy after all. Give it some time. Once you're big enough to defend yourself, & possibly even take him down- he'll call truce. If not, just remember this... he may give you a hard time but he's your brother after all. Let someone else be mean to you or treat you badly; He's sure to have your back. Big brothers are a great resource to have.

{4}The sight of you in your daddy's arms simply makes me o melt. Your daddy missed out all of Bubba's first year. He has had the gift of being here for your first year. Add to that the fact that you are his first, and only, girl and there's no wonder he calls you 'Princess'. That is what you are to him. You're pretty darn special to me too... But it's time to say "MaMa" already. You've had 12 months to practice. I'm waiting.

{5}I promise to always be there for you. I've known what it's like to feel discouraged & pushed to the side. It's no fun being lied to by those you were born to trust. Just remember that you can always tell me anything. But also remember to think before you act. If it would disappoint me or your daddy... it's probably not a good plan to follow through with.

{6}There's so much in this world to strive for. This may seem kind of ridiculous since you are yet to start walking but it's important that you know this one fact. It's all about dreaming, setting goals, & working your butt off to achieve those dreams. Let no one tell you that you are incapable of anything. Anyone who tells you this is a fool.

{7}I love your leisurely approach to life. Sure you're still a baby. It's not like you have to check in at work by a certain time or make any important lunch dates. You are able to sleep in (though you usually chose against it) without a care in the world. You have no sense of the minutes, hours, or months that have passed. It's like you live by your own sense of time. In a way- I hope that never changes. Rushing through life is over-rated. Take your time, smell the flowers, listen to some Sinatra, & document it all in photos.

{8}Though you weren't exactly planned on my part, your daddy & God had other plans. My pregnancy with you was a rough one emotionally. But looking back, I can promise that I would not change a moment of any of it. Feeling you move inside of me, being minutes away from having you in the hospital parking lot, none of it. You are exactly what this family needed. Not to mention, you're gonna give your daddy a run for his money one day.

{9}Your smile brightens up my entire day. Nothing compares to waking to the smiling faces of you & your bubba. My day can be going badly but with one tiny chuckle, you make me forget all things terrible. It's kind of hard to explain but you carry this light around you. Your presence draws people in & makes them smile. It's a gift you hold. Use it to improve the world. There is nothing better than brightening the lives of others.

{10}You're only one. You're life has just begun. You are probably already aware of this. I'm, in no way, trying to rush life along. I just see great things in you. It's important for you to know these things. Even at the bright ole' age of one.

With Love & Devotion,
Mommy

What a Morning We Had

Phew! What a Morning we had here at the house. Once I finished posting my last blog entry, I headed to bed. Bubbie had woke up around 12:30 and the only way he'd go back to bed was if I went it there. I took it as my sign that it was time for me to get some shut eye. Jump forward to about 3:45am. Lil' E wakes me up fussing. Her breathing sounds strange and so I take her to the hubs. To make a long story short- he ended up rushing her to the emergency room because her breathing was beyond scary.

Around 7:30am the two of them made it home from the hospital. Come to find out, our lil' girl has croup. What a way to celebrate her birthday, right? After everyone was able to catch up on some sleep we made it to pick up her meds. Hopefully she'll start feeling better soon. Her brother (my step-son) will be getting in this Friday. Not to mention, we'll be celebrating her turning the Big One with yummy cake & ice cream once the hubs gets back with before mentioned step-son. A few days should get her back to normal and being able to enjoy her special party.

I had planned on sharing a little about me & my blog. However, that will have to wait. Things have been kind of crazy because of everything else happening. Maybe I'll be able to sit down & share a little of the story later on. Tonight, after the kiddos are asleep... we'll see, we'll see.

Till Then~

a Lil' About Me

Jenna’s Journey
Come be part of Jenna's Commenting Challenge

Welcome to all of my new readers! With such a growth in readers & views I thought that I would take some time to share a little bit about myself.

My life began on 5.5.1985 @ 5:05am. My birth certificate says 5:06am but my mom argues otherwise.

If you add up all of the years I have attended some kind of school, you'd get a grand total of 17 and 1/2. In all I have a HS Diploma, an Associates in Criminal Justice, & a recently completed a 6 month Pharmacy Technician Program. Not to mention that if I decided to finish, I'm 1 year away from a Bachelors in Psychology. But yeah- that one is probably better left unfinished.

The hubs & I only knew each other 6 months before tying the knot. We were actually married at a Corrections Office in Fayetteville, NC. When we first met he lived in house #5 on his street. I know what you're thinking.. Must be destiny. {hehe}

This November we will be married 4 years. Time has flown. There have been a great number of ups & downs but hey- it's been worth it.

Some of those downs I have the US Army to thank for. The hubs has been in for 6 years & boy could he tell some tales. He's seen more than most see in their wildest dreams. The man has experienced some of the greatest loss & will forever will carry some of the largest weight inside his heart (as well as mind). Thank goodness he will be getting a Medical Discharge soon. Then maybe the healing can truly begin.

Bubbie turns 3 this August. Hard to believe that it's been that long since I had him. He's hit a massive growth spurt physically & mentally lately. Clings to his mommie's side more than ever though... I'm not sure if I ever want him to grow out of that though.

Lil' E will be 1 in 2 days! I'm both excited & conflicted about this milestone. Seems like just last week that I almost delivered her by myself. Yeah- she has one heck of a story to share with her husband & kids one day. No joke though, she has her daddy to think for her not being delivered on the side of a busy highway in Virginia. (Be sure to check back on Thursday for that story)

And we can't forget about our Furbabies. Currently we have (4) Pittie bulls & (2) Rabbits. An odd combination, I know, but it works. Carmen & Nova are our oldest Pitties. They both turned 4 years old this past May. Nitro was the baby for the longest time. This august he will be turning 2. This past week we officially added Bugatti (Gotti for short) to the family. He is a 7 weeks young. Carmen & nitro are his parents. Our Rabbits are Kenny & Gypsy. They are complete polar opposites. Kenny is a nonsocial 'thumper' & Gypsy loves to be loved on. She even gives kisses.

Hopefully soon I will become a Certified Pharmacy Technician & Medical Assistant. As of Sunday I have completed my 6 month course. All that I'm waiting on is my certificate of completion, as well as directions to setting up my exam dates. I'm excited. Kind of nervous (I haven't worked since meeting the hubs) but I'm sure I'll warm up to being the bread winner for a while.

It has taken me the past few months to sit down & really be content with everything that I have. Chalk it up to the recent addition of medication or simply to age. What ever the reason, I am grateful that I am finally beginning to find my place in this world. Never would have imagined I'd end up where I am but I guess sometimes God just decides to throw you a curve ball (or two).

Copy-Kids:Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD Review {and Giveaway}

{Copy-Kids DVD Trailer from Copy-Kids on Vimeo}

Getting your kid to eat healthy. Sounds simple enough, right? Maybe it is simple- for you. With my Bubbie though it has been far from it. This is one reason I jumped quickly for a chance to review 'Copy-Kids:Eat Fruits and Vegetables'. After all- Bubbie seems to be a 'follower' in this stage of his life. A video where he gets to watch other kids eat healthy fruits & veggies could only help his eating habits. I wanted to definitely give it a try. Boy am I glad I did!

Growing up, my family had salads & some veggies with dinner. However, the veggie list was fairly limited and the fruits we ate were pretty cliche'. Watching the Copy-Kids video with the kids introduced me to so many new ideas. It showed me that there is no harm in letting your kid eat a bell pepper as if it were an apple. Before watching the video I had never even thought of handing Bubbie half of an avocado & a spoon. The options really are endless when it comes to ways your kids can enjoy their fruits and veggies. Each kid is different but that is one neat thing about this DVD, it shows different kids eating each of the foods. With the variety that is introduced to your child, they are sure to connect with one (or many) of the kids they see. Not to mention, it's pretty cute for us parents to watch as well.

[Both of the kids watching the Avocado portion of the DVD]

I highly recommend this DVD to other parents. Our children learn best from observing other children. Enter below to win a copy courtesy of Copy-Kids & Sugar in My Grits. You can also purchase a copy of 'Copy-Kids:Eat Fruits and Vegetables' from the Copy-Kids website.

Morning Dose of Cuteness

Good Morning Lunchtime Pals!

Some may be thinking that I was lucky enough to sleep in since being up so late last night/this morning. WRONG! I'm just now getting around to sitting down to tip up a quick post. If you're rushed for time- you'll probably just want to come back for a visit later. Honestly, there's nothing very important, or interesting, to report this morning. Just a friendly heads up for ya :D For those of you looking to waste a little time, Welcome & feel free to continue reading.

This morning I woke up feeling worse than I felt yesterday. We're not really sure what's going on with me but part of me hopes I've just caught whatever bug the hubs has had. If it's not that- I fear what it may be. {lol} Let's just say that the way I'm feeling is striking a little close to home from when I was expecting Bubbie & Lil' E. So yeah~ we're hoping it's just a virus of sorts. Either way though, I just want to feel better. This having no energy crap is getting old fast.

On a much better note: check our little babies. {My 'Gotti' isn't pictured in this collage}
Momma Dog has stopped feeding them & they are weened onto dry food & water. Being as they are 6 weeks now, we're spending the day trying to get rid of them. I'll share updates later. This is the last litter for 'Red' because honestly, this litter wasn't planned. We just couldn't afford to get 'Nitro' fixed. This time we're taking the little bit of money we get from the pups & getting him neutered. That's right buddy! His 'daddying days' are over. {haha}

Well, I believe I'm going to leave you on that adorable note.
{Until Next Time}

..We're all Night Owls Here..

Okay, so it is 2:09am here in Virginia. I am still awake but hopefully will be headed to bed soon. The reason I say "hopefully" is because apparently I am the only one interested in sleeping. Bubbie passed out in my lap at 7pm because he had not had a nap today. All was well as I placed him in bed so that he wouldn't fall off the couch. Yeah- all was fine and dandy until he came sprinting in here at 1:30am. All smiles & ready to conquer his day. .ugh. I'm hoping to get him to lay down in bed with me when I go to lay down. At least in there he can watch cartoons & I can sleep... we'll see.

The reason I've been up this late tonight is because I've been working on creating some buttons for the blog. With each new blog I discover, I find new opportunities to advertise one day. It seems like each blog requests a button of a different size. So, while I'm trying to set somewhat of a "norm" for my posts, I am also creating a button collection. The owls were adorable but to be truthful, I needed a change. Something I did on my own. It's all about recreating myself, I suppose. I also created a new signature for my posts. It's super cute. {If I do say so myself}

Speaking of recreating myself- I would like to get your opinion... Sometimes I feel like I should settle into a certain niche as a blogger. The problem with that though is that my interests span across the board. I love doing my reviews & giveaways. However, I love sharing recipes, news about my life, & what ever randomly pops into my mind. Does randomness turn you off as a reader? Be honest. Things are finally falling into place for me on the blog... the direction of my focus seems to be the last bit before the home stretch of being "settled".

Well, I'm going to attempt to coax my night owl son back to bed. Wish me luck! For some reason all I've wanted to do lately is sleep but yet- I stay up till the wee hours of the night more than I probably should. But then again, I've just been feeling weird in general lately. Maybe it's the meds... who knows. G'night Friends!

Baked Zucchini Chips

I'm not exactly sure why, but lately I have become obsessed with all things chips. Especially Pita chips, Apple chips, & Zucchini chips. I believe that my thinking behind it is if I can get my family (and myself) to eat healthier simply by changing the appearance and taste of a healthy food, then why not?
Healthy foods taking the appearance of a potato chip = awesomeness!
My first experiment in this department was to try these Baked Zucchini chips. Now, this is a vegetable that I have never incorporated into my cooking. Honestly, I have never even tried a Zucchini. Sad, I know, but it wasn't until recently that I decided to venture out into the great wide world of healthy foods. As I get older my palate is becoming more curious about those foods that I have never tried before. It's really quite exciting to me. Without the creativity though, my family just isn't willing to jump on board.

What'cha need:
1 Zucchini
seasoning of your choice (I used Sea Salt)
a cookie sheet
canola spray

What'cha do:
1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees.

2. After rinsing the Zucchini, carefully slice it into thin slices.

3. Take your cookie sheet & cover it with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Spray a thin layer of Canola Spray over the foil.

4. Spread Zucchini pieces out onto cookie sheet. Season the slices but be sure not to over-season (They will shrink a bit). Spray a bit of Canola Spray over them.

5. Please cookie sheet into preheated oven for around 45 minutes.

6. After 45 minutes, check your Zucchini slices. Rotate the cookie sheet & bake for another 30-50 minutes.

7. Remove from oven when slices are browned. Let them cool but remember that they are better if eaten right away.

Note: Apparently I did not leave mine in the oven long enough. Most of them were still soft. However, the ones that were crispy were delightfully delish! With the Sea Salt as seasoning, they tasted exactly like friend okra (just healthier).

You Know You're a Mom When...

You Know You're a Mom When...
1. You instinctively watch everyone's kids (as well as your own) when at a family get together or just in public, in general.

2. Instead of getting aggravated with screaming kids in public, you completely sympathize with the parent(s).

3. The sound of a running shower is your only source of peace and quiet. Even though, you can still hear desperate little screams as they penetrate the sound of the water.

4. Potty breaks alone no longer exist.

5. You catch yourself using phrases such as 'potty', 'bye-bye', 'nom-nom', & 'dog-dog' when in the company of other adults. Or while writing a blog post.

6. Laughing hysterically silently at your significant other as they gag endlessly at the smell/sight of a poop filled diaper is a common occurrence. You've changed them so much that it's the norm for you these days. What's the big deal?

7. You've left the house more than once to later discover that you are walking around with thrown, spit-up, or smeared food on your jeans, shirt, or both.

8. There is an endless supply of magic erasers under your sink because they work wonders when it comes to removing crayons from your walls.

9. Your house looks a disaster more than it stays straightened & clean.

10. You can sit back & enjoy those things listed above
All while continuing to list 1000 more that I was unable to get to tonight...

"Meet Your Happy Chemicals" Book Review {& Giveaway}

When I was in high school, one of the lowest grades I made was in Psychology. It all fascinated me so much that I would later set it as my major at a university, but for some reason, I was completely & utterly confused by the chemicals of the brain. My memory isn't the best when it comes to "book smarts". As a mommy/wife I can remember where everything has been placed and what happened this time last week. However, ask me which chemicals of the brain are responsible for what and yeah... you'll be waiting for me to Google it or just moving on to ask someone else.

A few months ago, I had a follow-up appointment with my Primary Care Doctor to discuss the results of an ultrasound I had to have done on my breasts. (Apparently the lumps & sensitivity that I had been feeling were due to caffeine and nothing big enough for them to see on the ultrasound. Thank Goodness! But I'll share all of that some other time) At the end of the visit my doctor asked if there was anything else I'd like to discuss. For once, I broke down. My life had been crazy since becoming pregnant with Lil' E. Only to get worse after she was born. I cried at the slightest things. I also became anxious and frustrated easily. We started me on medication due to the fact that I was responding to a "Serotonin Overload". The meds would help regulate these chemicals.

One night, while browsing online, I came across a book called Meet Your Happy Chemicals. After reading the description I wanted to read this book. It not only describes the reasons for your neurochemicals, it also helps you get the best from them; An aid to training yourself and your "happy chemicals". It may not eliminate the need for my medicine but I'll take all the help I can get. Just the fact of doing something to improve my well being was enough reason for me to sit down and read this book.

Now I'll be honest, I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover and it wasn't that exactly- I just figured that I would struggle while reading this book because I had always had such a problem with brain chemicals. Boy was I wrong! I can out right say that this was the most interesting brain chemistry book I have ever read. With a perfect combination of personal experience, scientific facts, & relationships to the creatures in nature- I was hooked. The author, Loretta Graziano Breuning PhD, knows how to entertain a reader. She knew exactly how to break things down so that we could all relate to (and understand) what she was saying. If you would like to get more from your happy chemicals, create a new happy pathway, or just improve your thoughts and feelings? This is a book that you will want to check out.

Find out more by visiting the Meet Your Happy Chemicals website.
Or you can purchase the book via Amazon {HERE}

One Lucky reader will win a free copy of this book.

Coming Soon: A Friday Follow linky...

Why is it that the one night that EVERYONE falls asleep early, I can't seem to get motivated to do anything "me" related? I mean, sure I watched last weeks episode of "The Bachelorette" from On Demand but other than that- nada. This is a rare occasion because usually the hubs is up talking to me or the dogs are pestering me because the hubs is off in his own little world. Tonight though- I'm surrounded by the snores of those mentioned before.

Both kiddos are asleep even. But for some reason I am finding it difficult to focus on much of anything. Could it be because my mind has become accustom to the madness?!? Maybe. Just Maybe. Then again, maybe I have merely become mad myself. Yeah, that is probably the case.

Anywho~ I wanted to fill you all in on the awesomeness that is coming to Sugar in My Grits this Friday. Myself & two other bloggers (Mom's Thumb Reviews & Newly Blissed) will be hosting a weekly linky. This week will be focused on Facebook Follows. However, every Friday we plan on switching it up. Also, starting next week someone will be randomly chosen to be our featured blogger. We're all SUPER excited & hope to see you back to link up Friday.

Guess what!! I'm almost done with my Pharmacy Tech schooling. After I finish up all that is left to do is take my certification exams (pharmacy tech exam & medical assisting exam). It really couldn't have come at a better time because we just found out that the hubs is getting a medical discharge from the Army. (That's an entirely different post in itself) They're saying that he'll be out by Christmas. This gives me a tad bit of time to find a job. Probably going to brush up on my resume skills & start applying in late July after we've moved. Plus, we're getting my step-son for the entire month of July :D We haven't seen him since he was 3. He turned 7 this year.

Before I go, I wanted to welcome all of my new followers!
Hope to see everyone back here for the new linky :D

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

This is my first week joining up with the Sunday Social Linky. However, it's only their 2nd week & so yeah- I'm alright :D So settle in, learn a little about my, & hopefully you'll want to follow.
Please Note: {Let me know you followed b/c I'd like to follow you back}

{Favorite movie of all time} This happens to be a toughie for me. I have favorites ranging all the way from "From Here to Eternity" to "Fight Club" to "Death Race". If I had to pick one though, it would probably be "The Illusionist" starring Edward Norton & Jessica Biel.

{Favorite movie quote} Other than the colorful quote "Tutti F***in' Fruity" from The Devil's Rejects... I'd have to say it would be "It can't rain all the time." The Crow is another of my favorite movies (only the original- I do not like the others). I use this quote as encouragement sometimes.

{Best movie to watch for a girls night in} Honestly, this would be a waste. All of my friends are super chatty. The television may be on but I would almost bet that no one would be watching. Once "Magic Mike" comes out on dvd though-
There's a movie I'm sure we'd all stop jabbing our jaws to sit down and watch ;)

{Best breakup movie}Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Come on, it's from the guys who made "The 40-yr Old Virgin" & "Knocked Up"... need I really say more?

(Source: Fandango)

{Favorite celeb eye candy} Okay, so I have to confess something... I am a polygamist. Yes, there is the Hubs, Edward, Jason, & Gerard. ;) Na, I am really only married to one man but he's fully aware of my infatuations with the other (3). What women wouldn't love these men?

(Sources: Edward, Jason, Gerard)

{Which movie stars closet would you want to raid} Jennifer Aniston because she's such a simple & down to earth dresser. That is just my style.

(Source: OMG! from Yahoo!)

Confession Session: I'm addicted.

Okay, so I can not remember if I have shared this video or not. I guess it doesn't matter either way however because yeah- it's totally worth repeat watching. A "friend" of mine has even watched it like 1000+ times (wink, wink). And let's be honest a minute: Is there even anything such as too much Matt Bomer?!? I think not!

Hope I was able to improve your weekend a smidge. Trust me, save it as a YouTube favorite & start your day off with it regularly. That's an order ;} Also, did anyone else get a warm fuzzy feeling around 1:46??
Happy Saturday Friends!

Help Wanted

I am looking for bloggers who would like to guest post on my blog. My posts have been going well but with a move coming up, I'd like to build some bonds with others who would like to share their knowledge/creativity with my readers. Reese Chocolate Chip Brownies

Warning! These Bad Boys are Rich & Chocolatey!
May cause excessive cravings for more, once gone.
Please indulge with a glass of ice cold milk near by.

When I came across this recipe on Pinterest, I quickly pinned it & went on with my day. Many recipes make their way to my board but that is where most of them stay. Never making it onto my kitchen counter. As for this bad boy though- he mad it to the kitchen counter. He just didn't stay there very long... my family made sure of that.

What'cha Need:
- 8x8 casserole dish (or something similar)
- 1pk of ready to bake Chocolate Chip cookies
- 9 Reese Cups (I got mine when they were BOGO at Walgreens)
- 1 box of brownie mix
- ingredients the brownie box calls for.

What'cha Do:
- Preheat oven to temperature stated on the back of the brownie mix box.
- Cover the bottom of your casserole dish with the Chocolate Chip cookie dough.
- Place left over dough to the side (I ended up baking mine, once done with the brownies)
- Place Reese Cups along the top of the cookie dough.
- Mix brownie mix in separate bowl.
- Pour mixture over Reese Cups & cookie dough.
- Place dish in the oven for time designated on the back of brownie box.
- Remove from oven to let cool.

Me- Bragging... just a little :D

Okay, so I wanted to write to Totally brag to you guys. Recently, I decided to try to get into the whole couponing thing. No. No. Not the 'Extreme Couponing' that we are all obsessed with on TLC (Frankly, I do not have enough time for that). With the way life is right now I am slowly making my way into the 'money saving' pool. Anywho~ I had some coupons that were going to expire today & so I decided to take a trip to my two favorite stores. Food Lion & Farm Fresh After getting home, I was so giddy about the savings I accomplished that I wanted to share it with you guys! A girl deserves the right to brag, right?

First we went to Farm Fresh. I had a couple coupons that I had been rewarded as a result of my last shopping trip. Farm Fresh is a store that I enjoy because they are one of few around here that double coupons (up to $.99 daily) & to make things even better- on Wednesdays they double coupons up to $1. Imagine my delight when I got there & then realized that it was Wednesday! I had a coupon for everything except for the Koolaid & the Gerber juices. However, the Gerber juices were on closeout ($1.50 each). Add to that the coupons from my previous trip, the doubling of the ones up to $1 and I saved 60%!!
(Total Spent= $10.62 Total Saved= $14.50)
This doesn't even include all that I saved on all of the Gerber juice 4pks.

(There's 2 boxes of Reese Cereal & 2 boxes of Cheerios)
Going into Food Lion, all I had a coupon for was Stage 2 Gerber baby food. I also had a couple coupons, courtesy of Gerber, towards any purchase from my last shopping trip. However, once I got there I found a few great coupons to combine with some pretty sweet in-store deals. After all was said and done I ended up saving 49%!!
(Total Spent= $21.34 Total Saved= $20.68)
All in All, I'd say it was a pretty good day for saving!
